ZTA 5K Sponsorships Still Need- Join the Cause!

Dear Family & Friends:

One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.*

On October 25, the women of Zeta Tau Alpha will host our 10th annual ZTA 5K race
for breast cancer in Iowa City's City Park. The proceeds from the event will go to the
Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation to support breast cancer education and awareness; the
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition program; and
to support ZTA scholarships, educational programming and leadership development.

Zeta Tau Alpha works hard to raise funds to support the advancement of research to
find a cure for breast cancer and educate those in our community. We are looking
for both monetary donations and in‐kind support from our family and friends. We
would be honored if you would give careful consideration to becoming one of our
sponsors. In return, you will be recognized for your support.

The following details the benefits to you or your company for donations received:

Pink Ribbon Donor: $500 or more
‐ Sponsors have their logo prominently displayed on the back of the runner t‐shirt
‐ Your company logo, with link to your website, will be featured on the ZTA 5K race
Web site
‐ Signage will be displayed along the race route and at the registration table
‐ Opportunity to attend ZTA 5K pre‐race events such as community nights at local
businesses and other 5K fundraising efforts

Gold Crown Donor: $300 ‐ $499
‐ Sponsors have their name listed on the back of the t‐shirt
‐ Your company will be listed on our ZTA 5K race Web site
‐ Signage will be displayed at the registration table

Silver Crown Donor: $150 ‐ $299
‐ Sponsors are mentioned on our ZTA 5K Web site
‐ Sponsors are listed in the registration packet

Turquoise Crown Donor: $50 ‐ $149
‐ Sponsors will be mentioned on our ZTA 5K Web site OR sponsors will be listed in
the registration packet

We are also looking for food and service donations on race day. If your family is able
to help with these needs, please contact me directly.

Thank you for taking the time to consider sponsoring the ZTA 5K. If you elect to make
a financial contribution, please return the donation card with a check. Your donation
is tax‐deductible; a receipt will be provided. Checks can be made payable to the Zeta
Tau Alpha Foundation.

April 26th: At the college chapter house in Iowa City, we "initiate" the Seniors into the alumnae world. It is so meaningful to the girls to have as many alumnae there as possible. It's not a ritual so does not require white dress or anything like that. It is April 26th at 11 AM with a brunch after (optional). A great opportunity to re-connect with ZTA!

Just wanted to let each of you know that Zeta Day 2009 for Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa is April 18th in Downers Grove, IL. The theme is "Who Stole The Crown"

There are lots of new and exciting changes being made to Zeta Day this year and we really hope you will make the effort to come- we assure you it will be worth your trip! There are reunions planned for Eta Phi and Alpha Omicron alumnae along with guest speaker, Julia Hill ( former National President and current National Housing Corp President).

There will be wonderful Zeta items from our vendor and amazing baskets to try and win! If you've never been to a Tri-State Zeta Day, these baskets are amazing! So fun to look at. The alumnae, collegians, and lots of businesses are so creative when creating their basket. Attendants can purchase raffle tickets and then take a chance at winning one of the hundreds of prizes!

If you have items you want to donate that you would like to get out of your home, send them to me! I'm happy to put them together with some other new items and create a fun basket. If you want to create your own basket to raffle off for the ZTA Foundation, PLEASE do! We'd love to have your creative energy by way of a basket. Send me the theme you will create for your basket via e-mail. You can bring the basket when you arrive on the 18th. if you will not be attending but would like to create a basket OR give a gift certificate or single item to be raffled off, you can send the item to me OR you can send it along with a collegian from your area that is attending. Just let me know what you're sending so we are sure to look for it!

AO's 5k Race for Breast Cancer Awareness & Education

The Alpha Omicron ladies are at it once again... coordinating the biggest and best Greek philanthropy on campus! Support these ladies TODAY:

A note from Laura Weick, AO's Panhellenic and New Member Advisor:

I was at AO a couple days this past week for Workshop Week and the girls are looking GREAT!

This week's schedule:
- Round 1 of Formal Recruitment starts Tuesaday, August 19th. The parties are 15 minutes and are conducted at an on-campus site (rather than visiting 13 houses from 9 am - 9 pm!) The ZTAs will be recruiting from 118 MacBride Hall.
- Round 2: Welcome to the Houses on Wedesday (10 parties)
- Round 3: Sisterhood/Philanthropy Day on Thursday (6 parties)
- Round 4: Preference Night, Friday Aug 22 (3 parties)
- Bid Day is Saturday August 23!!!

On a side note, a couple people have asked how they can "help" : The 2 most important things are sending in an MIS form of any girl you may know that is going through recruitment OR sending a donation of flowers to make the chapter house beautiful! (The girls are not allowed to spend recruitment money on decorating the house, but can display donations from alumna and alumnae chapters).

The AO ladies really represented their chapter in a positive way at the 2008 ZTA Convention in Tucson, AZ. Natalie Gulbranson, District President XV-G (IA, NE, ND, SD), reports on the following awards:

Des Moines, IA - Crown Chapter (1st time) and 3rd place alumnae increase in membership in the NATION, Zeta Day 5th place donor to the Foundation in the NATION and Major Individual Donor to the Foundation

Omaha, NE- Crown Chapter, Founder's Club individual donor to the Foundation

We had the #1 increase in membership in the Nation for our District with 196%!
